SBC 2006
October 9th, 2006Jaclyn, Jennifer and I spent 9 days at SBC, Sierra Bible Camp.
Jaclyn registered as a full camper for the first time. Full camper privileges include sleeping in a camper cabin, participating on an Olympic team, KP duties and late night serenading to the boy’s cabins.
Jennifer participated as a staff camper. Like a full camper she attended Bible classes, free time events, swimming, campfire and the lake walk. For the third year in a row, I ran the craft area during camp.Mike joined us on the 5th day of camp and helped in the kitchen.
It was harder for us this year, not having Mike there all week. There were less problems and tears once he arrived.
Jackie really enjoyed her Olympic team, the Copycats. The Olympic teams are pre-chosen with a variety of ages levels/abilities within each team. Jackie had a nice group of girls on her team, which made it fun for her. It was a supportive and creative team. Olympic events include fun games, team cheers, team skits and team challenges of volleyball. Each team is awarded points as they play games, perform skits, etc. Jackie’s team, Copycats, ended the week with the most points. For all their effort, they received a special treat. At the final SBC dinner, the team was given a special table and served their dinner.
